Sparsh | Women’s Day Workshop at Aorang Studio with Falguni Bhatt

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Goomti hosted Sparsh, a ceramics workshop at Aorang Studio, established by distinguished visual artist and ceramic practitioner Falguni Bhatt. Widely recognised for her exploration of clay as a medium of memory, transformation, and cultural continuity, Bhatt’s practice draws deeply from the elemental relationship between earth, materiality, and human experience.

Set within the inspiring environment of Aorang Studio, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of hand-building with clay and engaged in a process that encouraged observation, patience, and creative expression. Under Bhatt’s guidance, the workshop offered valuable insight into the tactile and contemplative nature of ceramic practice, highlighting the significance of craftsmanship and the enduring connection between maker and material.

The gathering provided an opportunity for women to come together through shared learning and artistic engagement, fostering meaningful dialogue, creativity, and community. Through this experience, Sparsh celebrated the role of women as creators and cultural contributors while reaffirming Goomti’s commitment to nurturing spaces where art, heritage, and human connection intersect.
